Installation
1. The surfaces on which the stone is placed must be well fixed. In case the substrate is painted or greasy, it is necessary to remove it and impregnate it with a quality deep penetrating impregnation. Use a laser or a spirit level to measure and mark horizontal lines on the wall in order to keep the plane of the stone as precise as possible.
2. Mix the quality flexible adhesive well and leave it to stand for a few minutes, then mix again so that all the material is homogeneous.
3. If it is necessary to adjust the irregular stone, use a mason’s hammer, and in the case of a stone of the correct shape, it is possible to use a flexor for cutting.
4. Apply glue to the stone.
5. Apply glue to the substrate and pull with a trowel. Be sure to glue the stone by double gluing, by applying glue to the stone and the substrate.
6. Glue the stone with light horizontal or vertical movements parallel to the surface to expel air between the stone and the base.
7. Leave a distance of 1-2 cm between the stones, depending on the desired effect, and break the horizontal and vertical joints to get a more natural way of stacking the joints.
8. Grout with a canvas or nylon bag so that the joints are completely filled.
9. Depending on the temperature and absorbency of the substrate and the stone, try the stone with your finger.
10. In case a wet trace remains on the finger, the joint is still wet and must not be jointed.
11. When the joint reaches the consistency of wet sand, you can process it with a suitable stick. In this case, the joint crumbles and cannot contaminate the stone, while this can very easily happen if the joint is wet. In case the stone gets dirty with mortar, it is necessary to clean the joint from the stone with a damp sponge within an hour. Helps vinegar diluted 1: 8 with water.
12. After processing the joint with a stick, sweep and smooth the excess joint with a broom of medium hardness.
13. It is possible to additionally impregnate the wall with a quality impregnation that repels water or oil, and there are special types of impregnation that serve to facilitate the removal of graphite.
Recommendations
1. For installation of materials on surfaces such as plaster, knauf, painted wall, metal, wood, etc. contact us on +385 1 3644 121.
2. In case of higher temperatures, moisten the stone and the surface on which the stone is glued.
3. Install the material at a temperature of 5 to 30 C.
4. Do not use aggressive liquids, acids or high pressure washers to clean the stone.
5. After installation on the wall, the wet product needs some time to dry, so it will lighten over time.
